संन्यस् 4 P.

1 To place or put down, deposit.

-2 To lay down or aside, give up, abandon, quit; तेन त्वया शस्त्रं न संन्यस्तव्यम् V.5; संन्यस्तशस्त्र R.2.59; सन्यस्ताभरणं गात्रम् Me.95; Ku.7.67.

-3 To make or deliver over, entrust, commit to the care of; मयि सर्वाणि कर्माणि संन्यस्या- ध्यात्मचेतसा Bg.3.3.

-4 To put together.

-5 (Used in- transitively) To resign the world, discard all worldly ties and attachments and become an anchorite; वेदान्तं विधिवच्छ्रुत्वा संन्यासेदनृणो द्विजः Ms.7.94. संदृश्य क्षणभङ्गुरं तद- खिलं धन्यस्तु संन्यस्यति Bh.3.132.
